Get the most from your electricity tariff

Save money without introducing energy efficiency measures. There are many factors that affect the unit price of electricity, for example:

• Electricity unit prices are significantly cheaper in the evening – make the most of them
• Reschedule production/non essential energy use to take maximum advantage of non-peak rate times
• Minimise use of peak and winter units
• Check your tariffs with your energy supplier to ensure you are paying the minimum amount

When requesting a quote from your energy supplier, give them as much information about your business as you can, for example:

• S number
• The size of premises
• Provide a previous invoice amount
• What type of equipment your site uses: air conditioning, large scale refrigeration equipment for example
• How long this equipment is in use and at what times of the day

This will enable your energy provider to tailor an energy quote specifically to your requirements, taking advantage of the best possible tariffs for your business.
